Ann Holden
​Ann Holden is a medical artist and veterinary surgeon with experience of both medical writing (focussed on oncology) and of journalistic writing on veterinary topics. She worked as a vet for 20 years, running her own small animal veterinary surgery for 11 years, prior to branching out into other fields. During this time, Ann was commissioned to write on veterinary topics for professional publications. More recently, Ann has worked as a medical writer for Cancer Communications and Consultancy Ltd and still works for this company on a freelance basis. 
Ann has recently completed the postgraduate programme in medical art run by the Medical Artists' Education Trust (MAET), having been awarded a Pass with Distinction at the final assessment and the Dr Robert Whitaker Award for the best body of work submitted for assessment during 2012-13. She is also a professional member of the Medical Artists' Association of Great Britain (MMAA).
